We are the art
I want to share my journey. In part, for myself, because I believe the act of putting something into words for the world to see is inherently valuable. It will help me learn, gain clarity, grow and probably more.
In part, also, for you.
I am convinced I have a lot to give to certain people. People who love to learn. People who see that the human brain is infinitely malleable and the human spirit infinitely resourceful. People who see the art in that. Hopefully, people like you.
Because art isn’t just about what we create, it’s about who we become.
We are the art.
Most of all, I’m doing it because I have been feeling the calling to do so for a very long time now.
What’s this about though?
I’ve long struggled with the question of topic. Advice for building a personal brand online always mentions carving a niche. Meh… I’m someone with very broad interests (and, admittedly, an ADHD-like brain that tends to jump around A LOT), and I’ve always wanted to be able to share whatever is on my mind.
In truth, though, this is about the journey of being human. It’s a magical but also terrible journey. And we have created a society that is far too isolating for my taste. We value and prioritize the wrong things. We fight where we should collaborate, we take where giving would benefit the whole far more and we allow fear to enter where we could choose love.
I don’t see that as a problem to fix, mind you. I see the whole world as a giant organism that is always growing. The young tree that grows isn’t to blame for being small. And that same tree shedding its leaves in winter certainly isn’t immoral for letting those leaves whither and die. So this world is not evil for putting us to the challenge of being human. Nor are the humans who meet that challenge with anger, greed and lust. And in the same way, those who choose love and kindness aren’t morally superior.
We’re all just brush strokes on the canvas of life.
I do believe we can create a far more enjoyable and beautiful experience for everyone, by transforming our culture to one that values love over fear. And that journey starts within each of us and spreads out like wildfire. But it is not mandatory. We have a choice.
I made mine long ago. Which is probably why I feel the urge to share.
I’ll be honest though. This blog probably won’t be specifically about that, at first. But it is an important thread of who I am choosing to be. What I’m really aiming for here, is to give people who make the same choice more power.
That’s right, POWER.
The truth is that the power-hungry people are still the ones who amass most of it, while they are often the least fit to wield it. This, my dear friends, we need to change. Not by taking it away from them, but by levelling the playing field.
While I hear many people claim that inequality is higher than ever, I strongly disagree. By and large, any given human being has more power (literally) at their fingertips than the world’s leaders did a hundred years ago. Whatever device you are reading this on, it is easily 100.000 times more powerful than the entire system that landed the first person on the moon.
I intend to learn and teach how to use this power well and put it to good use.
Yet, our devices aren’t nearly our greatest source of power. It’s our minds we really need to master. Those things are so incredibly powerful that it is far more likely your thoughts crush your spirit than any given situation will, however miserable.
That too I intend to learn and teach about. I am, after all, a trained and certified coach with a masters degree in organizational psychology. Not to mention my sheer passion for exploring what it means to be human and learning to express our deepest selves.
Finally, I still have a lot to learn about creating valuable content online. So I hope you’ll bear with me as I stumble through these early stages. And I hope you’ll tell me when I’m full of shit. I also hope you’ll tell me when something touched you and what it meant to you.
Well. Bit of an elaborate intro to now start teaching you about AI agents and the like, right? Not to worry, though. It’ll be a wild ride, but a fun and meaningful one too. Isn’t that what we’re here for after all? 😉
Namaste. I honor that in you which is the same in me.
